The strengths of the paladin include that it is probably the most survivable class and is in plate armor. It can also heal and can bubble. Paladins bring you a lot of choices as a class that you can play. Paladins can wear any kind of armor that you choose and they can have shields. This helps to give them a lot of choice and high survivability in the plate armor later in the game. They have the ability to wear the plate armor at level 40. They also can have high armor and health numbers and can heal themselves. They have group and raid buffs and they can taunt their enemies off and resurrect other players.
They are a mixed class that is usually a support class, they can heal, tank and DPS but they need to specialize in order to do so. For alliances, dwarves get expertise with maces, which are useful as a weapon, humans are a great class to select because they can use a sword or mace and get a bonus earned. The draenei can heal, but more importantly they can grant themselves and everyone an extra percentage to hit through. If you are going to be a horde player, you have to be the blood elves. They do have the arcane torrent ability which can provide mana.
Some of the professions that you may want to choose are alchemy, blacksmithing, inscriptionist, jewel crafting and engineering. You should be sure to choose the professions that you are interested in and that you are going to enjoy doing in the game.
